ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the 2018 CDBG Sanitary Sewer Improvements will be received by the City of Mendenhall, Mississippi, at City Hall, 172 West Maud Avenue, Mendenhall, MS 39114 until 10:00 a.m. local time on November 15, 2019, at which time the Bids received will be opened and read aloud.
The Project consists of one (1) wastewater pump-station rehabilitation: removing and salvaging all submersible pumps/motors, guide rails, discharge piping, valve pit piping and valves, and all incidentals; cleaning and lining the concrete wet well; provide and install new submersible pumps/motors, guide rails, discharge piping, valve pit piping and valves, and all incidentals including providing and maintain temporary by-pass pumping operations; removing and salvaging all control panels (excluding SCADA equipment), providing and installing new controls and control panel; removing existing roof and supporting structure at pump station and replace with new roof, supporting structure, and light fixtures; relocation of existing power service from abandoned pump station building to existing pump station; installation and re-route of gravity influent to pump stating including all sanitary-sewer piping, manholes, and incidentals; installation of new force main from pump station to existing force-main discharge at lagoon; installation of combination air release/vacuum valves; removal of existing fences; installation of chain-link fence and gates; and installation of rock/gravel at pump station.
The Project will also consist of these additive alternates: Muffin Monster Manhole; rehabilitation of gravity sanitary-sewer system including pipe cleaning, televising (CCTV), and smoke testing; manhole inspections; manhole lining; cured in place pipe lining (CIPPL); manhole frame and cover adjustments; and point repairs.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid
Bidding Documents are being made available via original paper or digital copy through Plan House Printing. Persons interested in obtaining plans and specifications are required to register for an account at www.engserviceplans.com where they may order Bid Documents upon receipt of a Non-Refundable Payment, by cash or certified check in the amount of $100.00 for each set.
The successful bidder must comply with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. 1701u). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses and Section 3 residents.
Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.

Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
